Summary: 

Zapata Technology is seeking a skilled and motivated SQL Database Administrator to be part of a team focused on technology for the DoD. As a crucial member of the team, the ideal candidate will bring expertise in designing, implementing and managing SQL databases. Experience with T-SQL and a deep understanding of SQL Server database systems required.

Job Qualifications: 

Qualifications and Skills include: 

  • Experience installing, configuring, and supporting Microsoft SQL Server in High Availability Group configurations.
  • Expertise in SQL database administration supporting and managing databases in a production environment. 
  • Proficiency with T-SQL and ability to write scripts, stored procedures, triggers, and views to automate maintenance functions.   
  • Experience planning and implementing security measures to safeguard information against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification, or disclosures.
  • Ability to be a team leader working as both part of a team and independently to assign/review immediate tasks, set priorities, maintain task progress, and validate team members work consistent with the organizational goals and deadlines.   
  • Able to mentor junior personnel on proper practices and procedures.

 

Education/Certifications include: 

  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MSCA) or SQL Server 2016 or SQL Database Administration Certification   
  • IAT Level II

 

Working Conditions: 

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.  

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: 

Full time position  

 

Clearance Type: 

Requires a current TS/SCI. Employment is contingent on having the required active security clearance as well as other factors, including, but not limited to, drug screens.
