Zapata Technology is seeking an experienced Software Engineer, Cyber NIST, Intermediate level, for work at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland 21005. In this role, successful candidates will ensure quality and development of capabilities with the Distributed Common Ground Station-Army (DCGS-A) development team and customer stakeholders.

Compensation: $140-153K annually depending upon experience.

Essential Functions: 

  • Provides functional and empirical analysis related to the design, development, and implementation of software systems, including, but not limited to application software, utility software, development software, and diagnostic software. 
  • Participates in the development of test strategies, devices, and systems. 

Required Qualifications and Skills include:

Certifications:  None required. Will perform a variety of Cybersecurity tasks as defined by the NIST SP 800-181 National Cyberskills Workforce Framework (NCWF) & DoD Directive 8140. 

Minimum Years of Relevant Experience: 5 years within the last 8 years. 

Education Level & Degree Required: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Computer Science, Mathematics, or other Engineering or Technical discipline.

Clearance: Top Secret SCI. Employment is contingent on having or obtaining the required active security clearance or successfully passing the required background check, as well as other factors, including, but not limited to, drug screens.
